In the Past...
Students have been motivated and excited to read books that have been nominated for the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award, also known as the DCF Award. Each year, 30 books are nominated and anyone reading 5+ of the nominees are allowed to vote to help determine the winner for the year.
The DCF program at Fayston School has included annual goal-setting, book talk lunches, book critic sheets, and the DCF Wall of Fame.

This Year...
This year, the program has been expanded to include a larger variety of text types and genres. Students in grades 3-6 have set their own annual reading goals and monthly mini-goals. We will celebrate on a monthly basis by gathering and sharing with each other what book's we've recently read and loved! The hope is that by expanding the program we can extend the motivation and enthusiasm to readers of all genres.
